April's Print competition was the first time we had tried requesting members send digital images (DPI's) as well as prints, so that we could simultaneously project the images.
Despite a slow start, we had an excellent total of 57 entries submitted, and the process ran pretty smoothly. Peter Warner was the judge, the first time at our club for him.

The winners of the annual competitions were presented with their awards at the February 2024 meeting
The awards are made according to the aggregate scores in the individual competitions during the year, so consistency is the key.

Dear Club Members
We are having a Print Battle with Gloucester Photography Club on Tuesday 30th January 2024 at Gloucester’s clubroom. A return Print Battle is scheduled for November 2024 at the SA Hall.
The format will be 10 prints from each club with no more than 1 print per club member. Selection of prints to represent the club will take place in the New Year.
We are sure that you will have one or two superb prints to hand that have been placed in club competitions or accepted in external salons of photography.

On June 5th there was a Members' evening where members brought their boards with multiple images. Some cut up an image and made abstract patterns, others had a story-telling approach.
Later in the evening we viewed members' photographs that were accepted into salon exhibitions.

Saturday 20th May dawned with clear skies and the promise of a wonderful sunny day. Members of the Photography Club plus family and friends journeyed by coach to Cardiff and Cardiff Bay.
The Happy Snappers found numerous opportunities to grab that special shot and the choice of location was enhanced by the superb weather.There is wonderful architecture around the bay. It is possible to walk across the sea barrage to Penarth Marina and some of us almost made it!
