Club Outing - May 2022 - photos

The Cornishman

The club outing by steam train from Cheltenham to Broadway and then on by coach to Bourton-on-the-Water took place on Saturday 28th May. Club members and friends left Hereford by coach at 08.30 in eager anticipation and we were blessed with lovely weather, if somewhat breezy. We had a whole carriage reserved for us and the one hour train journey was very interesting with lots to see along the way.

There are some photos from the day in the gallery (link)

Bob Hall - former club chairman has passed away

Bob Hall

We are very sad to report the death of our former Chairman and founding member Robert "Bob" Hall.

A lifelong Salvationist, we say he has been Promoted to Glory. He was an encourager and inspiration to those of us new to photography and also to the more proficient photographer.

Bob supported and attended the club for as long as he could until failing health caused him to take a step back. He was always asking how things were going and regularly viewed the club website to see the competition results.

2020/21 charity donation

Mary Oliver presenting cheque to Sue Griffin

At our November meeting, our main charity fundraiser Mary Oliver presented a cheque for £900 to Herefordshire Wildlife Trust. The cheque was received by Sue Griffin who volunteers for the Trust.

The donation is to support the developments at Bodenham Lakes where an accessible bird hide and access path have been constructed.
